Growing a GardenOne really good plant to start with for growing a garden indoors, is called 'Devils ivy'. Devils Ivy is a fast growing vine that displays large tropical spade shaped green leaves this plant can take allot of neglect and still survive. Devils Ivy grows vigorously so you can clone the tips of this plant to produce multiple plants almost weekly. A Fuschia plant can also make a nice addition to any beginner garden, with nice purple and fuschia colour blossoms these flowers look nice and are easy to clone into several plants. LightingYou may need to add additional florescent lighting if you find that you don't have a good south facing window to use for your garden. Florescence fixtures come in many shapes and sizes to suit any lighting needs just take a trip to your local hardware store. Cloning PlantsOnce your garden gets going and your plants start reaching a good size you can start cloning plants. To clone a plant take clippings from a healthy branch and place them in water to encourage rooting. Once roots are visible re-plant into a starting soil. This is pretty much the simplest way to clone a plant. Growing Seeds into PlantsFor a lot of indoor flower varieties, seeds can be difficult when trying to propagate plants an indoor planter garden can become a very difficult when trying to get the moisture level right to start finicky small cacti and delicate flowers. If you can check your starter garden on a regular basis than you may have a good chance of success. Re-potting PlantsOne of the more common mistakes people make with growing plants in pots is remembering to re-pot your plant every season or so. If there is no room for the roots to grow it will stunt the growth of the plant and possibly kill the plant. And if you plant it in something too large than the soil moisture levels will become difficult to control and the plant will either get swamped or succumb to drought. A good rule is to re-pot a plant every season using a new pot that has a diameter of 1” larger. ExperimentDon't be afraid to experiment with cloning plants or propagating your own free house plants. Share plants with your neighbors and friends and you will soon have a very diverse indoor flower garden with a variety of plant species. Plan your garden to suit different flowering times so that you can have a variety of blooming plants all year round, showcased with stunning indoor garden planters.
